Journal Entry 1
Date: 6.04.2025 - 14.04.2025 (I am sorry I really thought I published the first entry but forgot to do so)
Activity: Full implementation of project B according to the one-page design provided to me by a designer colleague.
Notes: In general, despite the design containing basic things, it was still hard to implement. I spent 45 minutes drawing the whole level and then around 4 hours figuring out how to properly create slightly darkened cave-like background so it would not collide with other layers. Adding enemies, doors, pressure pads was again easy, but required a lot of tweaking for the level. For example, placing the doors/pressure pads onto moving platform, make the collider of the door disappear after it is opened to not block the path beneath it, etc... It was not easy and not straightforward to figure out (as, in general, everything in Unity). Another issue I encountered was that the enemies do not attack you after you hit them and they lost part of their health, because by default they are made to die from one hit. Trying to partially damage enemy with the pushable box and not killing it with the box was also a difficult challenge...
Invested hours: around 14-16 hours total
Outcome: it was actually fun and I really struggled to speedrun my own level for 45 minutes straight, skill issues present
